Lent: a time for reflection
“Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where He was tempted by the devil for forty days. As a child, I remember asking myself, am I reading that correctly ? Jesus was led by the Spirit, to be tempted? I couldn’t comprehend what had to happen. It was, however, meant to be, and is all part of God’s plan for our salvation. I believe because Jesus is sinless, He had to be led by the Spirit in order to get tempted. Unlike us, who are born with a sinful nature.
